I’ve developed my passion for cooking when I was in my 20’s when I moved to Toronto for work. I had always cooked with my mom and I suppose the foundation was laid when I was steeling pieces of raw dough on my mom’s counter with my brother. Of course my style of cooking has developed over the years but I also found that the best food was the one that was simple and made from real ingredients. In the past 5 years I have had a lot of challenges when it came to food from dealing with gestational diabetes to my twins having severe allergies to eggs, nuts and peanuts and me trying to lose that double baby weight. But the happy outcome is that all those challenges have made me a better and creative cook at that!
Four years ago, I embarked on a journey for my mom who was losing her battle to Ovarian Cancer and so I created Casual Chic Cooking(the book is available on Amazon and on The Blurb) , a recipe book where all donations would go to the Ovarian Cancer research and also to Parkinson’s (my mom had also been diagnosed a few years prior ). My mission is to keep trying to fund these two special causes in memory of my mom, whom by the way still has the sweetest tooth I have yet met, and to raise awareness. While I’m doing that , because I like to multitask, I want to teach that it is easy to eat healthy and sometimes allergen-free with simple ingredients and make it taste awesome in the process!
