Around The World Crockpot Pulled Pork

I wanted to do different then my usual pulled pork but keeping my basic beer in the mix and as I was looking through my fridge and spices I got inspired by the world! It started with a beer, a clove of garlic and soy sauce and then I saw the curry powder….The result? A delicious and moist pulled pork, perfect for a sandwich on a hot summer day and the bonus? This recipe will easily feed a crowd and is assembled in 5 minutes! So take you taste buds on a journey and travel to India, North Africa, Asia and Spain with me!

Simply dump everything in the crockpot and let cook on low for 8 hours.  Remove the excess fat and shred the pork with 2 forks.  Serve in sandwiches or over rice with a nice vinegar base cabbage slaw to balance out the richness of the pork.

  • 1 picnic pork shoulder roast (about 2.5 kg)
  • 1 beer (any kind)
  • 1/2 cup of reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup of ketchup
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp of smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp of harissa paste
