I wanted to do different then my usual pulled pork but keeping my basic beer in the mix and as I was looking through my fridge and spices I got inspired by the world! It started with a beer, a clove of garlic and soy sauce and then I saw the curry powder….The result? A delicious and moist pulled pork, perfect for a sandwich on a hot summer day and the bonus? This recipe will easily feed a crowd and is assembled in 5 minutes! So take you taste buds on a journey and travel to India, North Africa, Asia and Spain with me!
Simply dump everything in the crockpot and let cook on low for 8 hours. Remove the excess fat and shred the pork with 2 forks. Serve in sandwiches or over rice with a nice vinegar base cabbage slaw to balance out the richness of the pork.
- 1 picnic pork shoulder roast (about 2.5 kg)
- 1 beer (any kind)
- 1/2 cup of reduced sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 cup of ketchup
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 1 tbsp curry powder
- 1 tbsp of smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp of harissa paste
